Helen Lindon was born in Wales, brought up in Dorset and worked in London. While developing her Fine Art practice she was an Associate Lecturer at Byam Shaw, Central Saint Martins and London College of Communication - all University of the Arts, London.

 

She moved to Folkestone in 2010 where she makes her work on the subject of Climate Change and Sea Level Rise. She uses the natural elements that make up her subject - sea water, rain and carbon, to make large drawings using tiny marks which take hundreds of hours. They become for the artist and viewer a contemplation on Climate Change and our place within it.

 

Collaboration with others is important, exciting, challenging and highly productive for her and she has worked with other artists, musicians,composers, choreographers and other educators.

 

Over the last few years she has made three collaborative art films with Joanna Jones and Clare Smith and performed live to improvised music with The Montrose Composers'Club.

And collaborations with Anna Braithwaite, Luke Birch with 'In The Loop...' performed at The Quarterhouse and with Anna, Luke, Daisy and Olivia performed 'MOONSEED' an interactive, improvised work created over a year of provocations. The performances were live in Kent and and zoomed live from Canada.
